Made in Japan, the Shun Kagerou blades feature a distinctive two-tone design where the upper section displays an elegant mirror-polished finish, while the lower portion showcases fine Damascus steel patterning that flows upward along the edge like rising heat. This unique aesthetic gives the series its name - Kagerou (陽炎), meaning "Heat Haze" in Japanese.
The 70-layer construction combines flexible VG 2 steel with extremely hard VG 10 steel, ensuring exceptional sharpness and long-lasting edge retention that allows ingredients to be cut effortlessly with superior food release.
The symmetrical grey-marbled PakkaWood handles are treated for exceptional smoothness, durability, and moisture resistance.
